Body of missing Red Lake woman found
RED LAKE, Minn.—The body of Amy Dow—a Red Lake, Minn., woman missing since Jan. 28—was found Monday, March 12, according to her mother.
Although officials have not issued a statement regarding Dow's death, her mother, Chele Kalstabakken, confirmed via Facebook message that Dow's body was found.
Kalstabakken said that she, along with Dow's father, sister and brother-in-law, found her body after receiving a tip from a friend. Dow was found near her Ponemah, Minn., home.
Her body was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Dow was last seen leaving her house in Ponemah in late January. Her family began searching for her Feb. 3. The Red Lake Department of Public Safety declined to comment on the case and said the FBI was taking the lead. Public relations officials with the FBI did not return multiple calls and emails requesting further information.
