Vote Larry J. Richards for Municipal Judge

Larry Richards

Grand Forks

My name is Larry Richards and I am running for Grand Forks Municipal Judge. I graduated from the UND School of Law with Honors in 1999. I am currently an attorney in private practice as well as faculty with Lake Region State College. My wife, Dr. Mandi Johnson, and I have called Grand Forks our home for over 25 years. Together we have three kids: Evangeline, Ruby, and Sumner. I grew up on a farm near Hope, ND, where I learned the values of hard work and honesty.

The Grand Forks Municipal Judge is a part-time, nonpartisan office within the City of Grand Forks. I have over 18 years of broad-based legal experience that has prepared me to serve as your municipal judge. I have worked on many types of cases with a variety of people. I currently work as a member of Juvenile Drug Court, previously volunteered for Adult Drug Court, and have completed the certification to be a family mediator with the North Dakota Supreme Court. In 2013, Grand Forks Herald readers awarded me the People's Choice for Best Attorney of the Year for my work in the legal community. I also was honored to receive the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from the Grand Forks Lions Club in 2016 for my dedication to the Grand Forks community.

As a husband, father and professional in Grand Forks, I care deeply about our community. I envision a Municipal Court where citizens feel as comfortable as possible and leave knowing they had their day in court. Every person will be treated the same, no matter who they are.

I am running for Grand Forks Municipal Judge because you deserve new leadership. I will be committed to creating an up-to-date website, so you have access to accurate contact information. Grand Forks needs a municipal judge who is unafraid to tackle difficult issues and will hold people accountable for the greater good of our community.

I would be honored to be your next Grand Forks Municipal Judge. Please vote Larry Richards for Municipal Judge on June 12.
