Schlossman: Recruit reports good news for UND fans

No surprise, the Penticton Vees are off to a blazing start again.

They are 6-0-1 through seven games, led by a deep defensive corps and strong goaltending.

This has to be exciting for UND fans.

Defenseman Jonny Tychonick, listed as a possible second- or third-round draft pick by the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau in their preseason watch list, is one of those players.

The scouting report on Tychonick from those in the BCHL is that he’s taken a nice step this season, is extremely competitive like a Troy Stecher or a Nick Jones. He could be a very good defenseman for UND. I think that has been anticipated for some time.

One guy who is flying completely under the radar — at least for now — is UND defenseman commit Luke Reid.
